According to a recent survey by the Guild of Travel Management Companies, only 7% of the workforce in business travel is under 24 years old. It was exactly this issues that the Giles Business Travel Academy set out to address when it launched in 2013.
The Academy offers a Diploma in Business Travel accredited by the Confederation of Tourism & Hospitality. The Diploma consists of a 24 week, full-time course during which students learn a mixture of industry specific technical skills (GDS, Fares & Ticketing VA1 and VA2) and business skills (sales, customer service). The Diploma also includes opportunities to meet with a variety of industry suppliers and take part in two weeks of work experience with leading suppliers and Travel Management Companies.
All of the training takes place in a purpose built, state of the art facility in Amersham, Bucks. which is easily accessible from London, being at the end of London Underground’s Metropolitan Line.
