Our latest intake of students studying for their Diploma in Business Travel are now entering their 7th week of the 23 week programme. Below is a quick update of what they’ve been up to.
By the end of this course they will be fully equipped to take on the role of a business travel consultant. They will have qualified in Sabre GDS and VA1 Fares and Ticketing, as well as studying a range of topics including sales, marketing, account management and customer service.
During their time with us they will have completed two weeks of work experience, spent time with numerous suppliers and had the opportunity to work with mentors in our partner Travel Management Company so they can get first hand experience.
They will graduate in June having had some truly memorable opportunities that will set them up well for a highly successful career in the travel industry.
If you know anyone who might be interested in taking the first steps towards a similar career, our next course starts in September and we are now taking applications. Visit the Giles Business Travel Academy website for more details.
Our students at The Giles Business Academy were visited today by our local MP, Cheryl Gillan. Mrs Gillan has been a supporter of the Academy since it started and the fact she took time out to meet with us was much appreciated.
Mrs Gillan shared her personal travel experiences with us along with her thoughts on current travel related issues – including HS2, travel infrastructure and the Heathrow third runway debate.
We are delighted to be responsible for the curriculum and tutoring at the Giles Business Travel Academy.
